According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand officially registered Sadet Nam Yala Durian as a geographical indication product (GI) in the southern province of Yala in early February, and plans to export it to China and Malaysia.

Sadet Nam Yala Durian is famous for its sweet taste. Its flesh is delicate, its color varies from light yellow to deep yellow, and its fiber and moisture are relatively small. After Vietnam's durian gained access to the Chinese market last year, Thai durian exporters began to face competition from Vietnam.

According to the observation of Huacheng's import and export data, Vietnam's durian output can reach 1 million tons, while Thailand's output is only 775000 tons. Vietnam's lower production costs and more convenient logistics and transportation have attracted many Chinese enterprises and even Thai local enterprises that have operated in Thailand for many years to purchase durian from Vietnam.
