Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in the first two months of 2023, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 41000 tons, earning foreign exchange of 129 million dollars, up 35% and 7.4% respectively from the same period last year. The main reason is that the export price of pepper in the world has declined.
According to import and export data, Vietnam's pepper export volume and export volume in February were 28000 tons and 86 million US dollars respectively, up 123.1% and 98.2% month-on-month respectively.
According to import and export data, the export price of pepper was US $3059 per ton in February, down 11.1% from January and 32.8% year on year. According to import and export data, the average export price of pepper in the first two months was $3177 per ton, down 31.4% year on year.
According to import and export data, Vietnam's black pepper export volume reached 91.8 million tons in January, earning foreign exchange of 28.97 million US dollars. The export volume and export volume decreased by 36.5% and 36.6% respectively compared with December 2022. The export of black pepper to Ireland, India, Senegal, South Korea, Finland and Japan increased.
In the domestic market, import and export data showed that the export price of black pepper and white pepper increased sharply in February due to the increase in import demand in the Chinese market. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development expects that the global pepper market is recovering, so pepper exporters need stable raw material areas.
