2023-03-28

According to the Import and Export Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, citing customs data from the General Administration of Customs, in February this year, Vietnam's coffee exports to the Netherlands amounted to 4100 tons, with an export value of 10.11 million US dollars. Customs data show that the export volume and export value increased by 24.1% and 18.1% month on month, and 110.3% and 136.6% year on year, respectively.

Customs data show that in the first two months of this year, Vietnam's coffee exports to the Netherlands increased by 105.7% year-on-year. Become the country's second largest coffee supply market outside the EU.

According to customs data, in the first two months of this year, Vietnam's coffee exports to the Netherlands reached 7420 tons, with an export value of 18.77 million US dollars, with year-on-year growth of 93.1% and 105.7%, respectively.

In 2022, the coffee supply sources in the Netherlands mainly came from the EU internal market, with Belgium, Germany, France, Finland, Italy, etc. being the main coffee supply markets in the Netherlands. At the same time, coffee imports from the Netherlands to markets outside the EU have also shown a double-digit growth, with Vietnam being the country's second largest coffee supply market outside the EU.

According to customs data, the Netherlands is the fifth largest coffee seller in the world. The total annual coffee consumption in the Netherlands is approximately 3.5 billion euros. In particular, the Netherlands is an important gateway for importing coffee and re exporting it to other EU countries.

Experts say that for small and medium-sized enterprises wanting to enter the European market, the Netherlands is the right and convenient "pedal" for enterprises to expand their export market. To successfully enter the Dutch and European markets, coffee needs to meet quality and other stringent requirements. Vietnamese enterprises should ensure product quality, supply pollution-free coffee, and meet the safety index proposed by the importing country. In addition, it is necessary to carefully understand the Dutch market and the country's consumer needs, logistics, distribution systems, etc.
