On April 10th, the first batch of Kirin fruit products directly shipped from Ecuador to Shanghai, China arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport smoothly, marking Ecuador's first export of Kirin fruit to China and the first import of such products by Chinese customs. Kirin fruit belongs to the cactus family, with a medium yellow appearance and abundant nutrients. It contains rare anthocyanins and plant-based proteins, as well as water-soluble dietary fiber and vitamins. It is a typical tropical fruit, named after its outer skin that resembles Kirin slices.

Thanks to China's policy of supporting "high-quality imports" and the continuous expansion of consumer demand for healthy fruits, the import volume of fresh pitaya has continued to show a steady growth trend in recent years. According to the observation report of Huacheng import and export data, in 2021, China will import 587000 tons of fresh pitaya, mainly from Vietnam and Taiwan, China, China.
