General Administration of Customs: Over a hundred agricultural and food products from Central Asian

According to the General Administration of Customs of China on the 17th, more than a hundred agricultural and food products from Central Asian countries can be exported to China, with over 4000 registered enterprises approved.

The General Administration of Customs stated that efforts are currently being made to promote smooth trade between China and the five Central Asian countries. Actively promoting the normalization of passenger and cargo transportation at the highway ports between China and neighboring countries in Central Asia, the port capacity has been significantly released, and some ports have exceeded pre epidemic levels in cargo volume.

In addition, the General Administration of Customs actively promotes the export of high-quality agricultural products such as grains, fruits, oilseeds, dairy products, and livestock products from Central Asian countries to China. In order to promote the development of agricultural and sideline product trade, the General Administration of Customs has continued to expand the "green channel" for rapid customs clearance of agricultural and sideline products, and has opened 8 "green channels" for rapid customs clearance of agricultural and sideline products to Central Asian countries, achieving full coverage of highway ports.

The General Administration of Customs stated that it has promoted the establishment of a cooperation mechanism between the competent departments of animal and plant quarantine, and will be committed to maintaining national biosecurity, strengthening regional cross-border animal and plant epidemic prevention and control, as well as technical exchanges, and promoting more high-quality and safe agricultural products from Central Asian countries to enter the Chinese market.

China is an important trading partner of Central Asian countries. According to Chinese statistics, in 2022, China and the five Central Asian countries achieved a trade target of 70 billion US dollars ahead of schedule. The trade volume from January to March this year increased by 22% year-on-year, showing a strong development momentum. In 2022, China's imports of agricultural products, energy and mineral products from Central Asian countries increased by over 50% year-on-year.
