Customs data shows that in the first quarter of this year, the export value of Vietnamese salmon to mainland China and Hong Kong decreased by 22% to 143 million US dollars. Customs data shows that the export value to mainland China was 133 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 23%. Nevertheless, mainland China and Hong Kong remain the largest export markets for Vietnamese salmon.

According to customs data, fish fillets and frozen fish are the main Bashar fish products exported by Vietnam to China. Customs data shows that due to a 10% decrease in average export prices, the export value is 91 million US dollars. Customs data shows a year-on-year decrease of 32%, accounting for 68% of the total export value.

The Vietnamese Association of Aquatic Exporters and Producers (VASEP) stated that the Chinese market is no longer as easy as before, and not all products can be accepted by the market. Export enterprises should timely and correctly identify and evaluate the opportunities and challenges in the Chinese market, and develop and promote economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.
