Among the major trading partners, in the first five months of this year, Guangxi's import and export volume to other members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) reached 155.52 billion yuan, an increase of 104.4%. According to customs data, the import and export volume to ASEAN increased by 117.4%. During the same period, the import and export growth rate of Guangxi to Middle Eastern and African countries exceeded 40%.
Nanning Customs believes that the rapid growth of foreign trade is due to the deepening cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN in the paper and automotive industries, as well as the continuous expansion of the scale of imported fruits. According to customs data, in the first five months of this year, Guangxi imported 1.06 billion yuan of pulp from ASEAN, an increase of 25.4%; The export of paper products to ASEAN reached 1.1 billion yuan, an increase of 63.7%. According to customs data, during the same period, Guangxi's export of automotive parts to ASEAN reached 1.24 billion yuan, an increase of 46.9%. In addition, with the increasing variety of ASEAN agricultural products that China has added to the market, more and more high-quality ASEAN fruits are entering the Chinese market. Customs data shows that in the first five months of this year, Guangxi imported 3.66 billion yuan of fruits from ASEAN, an increase of 193.7%, including 3.24 billion yuan of fresh durian imports, an increase of 516%.
