New Zealand News Center (Newshub) reported on May 12 that according to data released by the New Zealand Meat Industry Association, New Zealand red meat exports in March once again exceeded the S$1 billion mark, and China is still the largest export destination. In an interview with the media on Wednesday, the association’s chief executive Karapeva said that in March, New Zealand’s red meat exports to China reached S$464 million, accounting for 45% of total red meat exports, an increase of 35% over the same period last year, of which mutton exports to China The volume was 36,400 tons, a record high. Karapeva said that global demand for high-quality red meat is still strong, especially in the Chinese market. At present, China has gotten rid of the impact of the epidemic and returned to normal, and consumer demand has rebounded strongly, which is great news for New Zealand meat companies.

Karapeva said that the latest data show that the interfering factors caused by the epidemic have gradually subsided, but the supply chain problems still exist. She said that with the gradual implementation of global vaccination work, economic recovery in various countries is expected to promote a rebound in the industry. She cited a forecast report from an industry organization that the global demand for high-quality meat will increase by 8% in the next five years. Card also believes that as a global problem with multiple factors, supply chain issues are widespread in all walks of life and cannot be ignored. As the peak season is approaching, the industry needs to attach great importance to the impact of logistics and supply chains.
