According to information from Kunming Customs, from January to May this year, Yunnan Province exported 397,000 tons of fruit with an export value of 4.64 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.9% and 10.1% respectively. In the first five months of this year, Yunnan imported 236,000 tons of fruits, a year-on-year increase of 39.1%, and imports of 2.22 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 52%.
On June 7, after passing the inspection and quarantine of Tengchong Customs under Kunming Customs and issuing relevant certificates, a batch of 30 tons of mangoes from the Kangyuan Agricultural Cooperative in Longyang District, Baoshan City was exported to Russia through Manzhouli Port. Since the beginning of this year, Baoshan mangoes have exported 145.4 tons to Russia with an export value of 2.181 million yuan, which is more than 7 times that of last year.
Xian Guangwen, head of the Kangyuan Agricultural Cooperative, said that their "ivory mango" was exported to Russia on the China-Europe Express train for the first time last year, and the market sales are good. Russian buyers signed an order contract with them early this year. Chen Yunfan, deputy chief of the Comprehensive Business Section of the Longyang Office of Tengchong Customs, introduced that in order to promote the development of the Russian market for mangoes, they have strengthened the inspection and quarantine supervision and verification of export orchards, and helped the orchards establish a standardized quality control system to ensure that each batch of Mangoes meet export requirements.
After learning about the export of Baoshan mangoes to Russia last year, Baoshan Xingbang Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. also took the initiative to connect with Russian businessmen, found foreign buyers for 1,600 acres of mangoes, and consulted Tengchong Customs regarding export matters. Tengchong Customs dispatched personnel to the enterprises for guidance in time; at the same time, it contacted and cooperated with the Manzhouli Customs at the export port to ensure that the fruit was exported with "zero waiting" at the Manzhouli port. Since the beginning of this year, the company has exported two batches of mangoes to Russia and signed a long-term supply contract with Russian high-end fruit supermarkets. In addition to exporting "Ivory Mango", late-maturing high-quality mango varieties such as "Kate Mango", "Golemi", and "Xiaoao" were added to the Russian market. "Our mango harvest period will be extended to October this year, and we are expected to export more than 750 tons to Russia. We are looking forward to the prospects of Baoshan mangoes in the international market." said Wang Xiuqing, the company's head.
According to statistics from Kunming Customs, in the first five months of this year, Yunnan Province exported 1010.5 tons of mangoes to countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” route, with an export value of 10.87 million yuan, an increase of 13.3 times and 10.2 times respectively year-on-year.
At present, Hekou Port is the port with the largest export volume of agricultural products in Yunnan Province. In June 2019, the “Green Channel” for fast customs clearance of agricultural and sideline products at the China-Vietnam Hekou-Laojie Port was officially opened, and Yunnan fruits such as oranges entered the Vietnamese market at a faster speed.
"The citrus fruits produced in Mangshi have good shape, good coloring and strong flavor. They are very popular with Vietnamese consumers. They are the main fruit varieties we export. Compared with last year, the export situation is good this year. We have exported more than 28,000 in the first five months. Tons of fruit have arrived in Vietnam, nearly double that of last year!" said Li Ang, the person in charge of Yuxi Yingteng Trading Co., Ltd.
Hekou Customs takes advantage of the “green channel” for rapid customs clearance of agricultural and sideline products at the Sino-Vietnam Hekou-Laojie Port, implements the customs clearance model of origin inspection and quarantine, and direct port release, makes full use of large-scale container scanning systems and other supervision and inspection equipment, and sets up special windows to handle the customs clearance procedures for agricultural products. To ensure that "check when the goods arrive, check and release immediately." "Through the'green channel', the citrus exported in the morning can be sold in the Vietnamese market in the afternoon." Li Ang said happily.
According to statistics, from January to May this year, citrus exports from Yunnan Province to countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” reached 236,000 tons, with an export value of 2.67 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 55.6% and 36.4% respectively.
While "Yunguo" is gaining popularity in the international market, the Yunnan imported fruit market is also booming. Customs data shows that dragon fruit, watermelon, longan, durian and other fruits from Southeast Asian countries are very popular among consumers.
