The "China Dairy Industry Quality Report (2021)" released at the meeting showed that in 2020, the national milk production reached 35.3 million tons, an increase of 7% year-on-year; the output of dairy products reached 27.8 million tons, an increase of 2.8% year-on-year. The output has increased steadily. Dairy products manufacturing enterprises above designated size achieved revenues of 419.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%; total profits were 39.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%.

More importantly, during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the quality of my country's dairy products has steadily improved. The report shows that in 2020, the sampling inspection rate of dairy products and infant formula milk powder will reach 99.87% and 99.89% respectively, maintaining a relatively high level; the sampling inspection rate of melamine and other key monitoring and prohibited additives will maintain 100% for 12 consecutive years. In terms of upstream breeding, the report shows that in 2020, the proportion of large-scale breeding of more than 100 heads in the national stock will reach 67.2%, an increase of 3.2 percentage points year-on-year; the yield of dairy cows is 8.3 tons, an increase of 0.5 tons year-on-year.

Ma Youxiang, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, stated in the keynote speech at the D20 Summit that dairy products are high-quality food that reflects the quality of life of urban and rural residents, and the dairy industry is an indispensable industry for a healthy China and a strong nation. Ma Youxiang revealed that at present, consumers' recognition of domestic dairy products has increased significantly. In 2019, the market share of domestic infant formula milk powder exceeded 50% for the first time, and it will expand to 54% in 2020. Since 2019, the cheese retail market has maintained a double-digit growth rate and has become a new growth point for dairy consumption.

Giving play to the leading role of demonstration and leading D20 companies accounted for 62.76% of revenue

Data show that D20 companies will achieve revenue of 263.297 billion yuan in 2020, accounting for 62.76% of the revenue of dairy companies above designated size in the country. D20 companies’ raw milk purchases account for about 60% of the country’s total raw milk purchases.
