2021-10-14

According to the Viet News Agency, although many provinces and cities in southern Vietnam are still implementing social distancing measures, compared with August 2021, rice export activities in September began to release positive signals.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in September 2021, Vietnam’s rice exports reached 530,000 tons, with exports amounting to US$261 million.

In the first nine months of the total, the export volume of rice was 4.516 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.5%; the export value was US$2.389 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 2.4%.

According to expert analysis, due to the adverse effects of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, rice exports have been facing difficulties in recent months, but like furniture, seafood, vegetables, coffee, rubber, cashews and other industries worth billions of dollars, this is still Vietnam. Advantageous industries in the agricultural field.

In order to achieve the above results, various enterprises have redoubled their efforts to solve the difficulties in loading, unloading and transportation.

Not only that, the price of rice exported from Vietnam has continued to improve. Some companies believe that the main reason for the increase in rice prices in Vietnam is the recovery of demand in the traditional market and the impact on rice supply in India due to unfavorable weather.

It is predicted that due to increased demand in many major Asian markets at the end of the year, Vietnam’s rice export activities will continue to advance in the last three months of 2021.

In addition, export activities will become more active as many places have relaxed social distancing measures since early October and resumed safe production.

With the improvement in the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in some major rice import and export countries, rice import and export activities have resumed, and the world's rice market has once again shown signs of activity.

Taking advantage of this favorable opportunity, Vietnamese companies strive to achieve the goal of exporting 6.3 million tons of rice and US$3.2 billion in export value in the fourth quarter of this year.
