Vietnamese media reported that the export of fish nearly doubled by US $2.3 billion in the first five months of this year. Vietnam's fish export is expanding to many major countries.
In the first four months of this year, Vietnam's total fish export exceeded US $963 million, a year-on-year increase of nearly 97%. According to the Vietnam aquatic products processing and Export Association (vasep), the export of Chayu to major markets was good and stable in the first four months of this year. Hong Kong, China, remained the largest export market for Vietnamese fish, with exports exceeding US $300 million, a year-on-year increase of 156%. The United States is the second largest market, with exports reaching US $241 million, a year-on-year increase of 136%. Chayu exported US $65 million to the EU market, a year-on-year increase of more than 84%.
At the global aquatic Expo held in Spain at the end of April, a number of Vietnamese fish inspection enterprises introduced a variety of value-added products to customers, and sought and strived to sign more new orders. It is expected that the export situation of Chayu to major traditional markets will continue to be considerable in the second quarter of this year.
In addition to the above markets, Vietnamese fish inspection exporters actively explored potential markets in the first four months of this year. There are three markets worth noting: Mexico, Egypt and Thailand.
According to Xie He, an expert in vasep fish inspection market, after more than three years affected by the epidemic, the export activities of fish inspection in the above three markets are more active than ever before. The number of enterprises participating in export is also large. At present, Mexico is the largest export market of Vietnamese Chayu to cptpp market.
