In the first four months of this year, Vietnam’s pangasius exports to major markets were good and stable. China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was the most attractive region, with exports exceeding US$300 million, an increase of 156% over the same period last year. The United States was the second largest market. , the export value was 241 million US dollars, an increase of 136%, and the export value to the EU market also increased by more than 84% to 65 million US dollars.

Due to strong market demand, the total export value of pangasius from Vietnam in the first four months of 2022 has increased by nearly 97% compared with the same period last year, reaching over US$963 million, a result that provides momentum for many Vietnamese pangasius enterprises in the upcoming export season .

In the first four months of this year, Vietnamese pangasius exporters actively explored potential markets such as Mexico, Egypt and Thailand.

The export activities of Vietnamese pangasius exporters to these three markets are unprecedentedly busy, and there are also many companies participating in the export.

Mexico is the market with the largest export value in the CPTPP market. In the first four months of this year, Vietnam’s pangasius exports to Mexico exceeded US$40 million, an increase of 69%; exports to Thailand exceeded US$38 million, an increase of 80%; Exports reached 14 million US dollars, an increase of 85%.

In recent years, Thailand has become a new customer of Vietnamese pangasius, and its geographical advantages and growing demand for pangasius imports have attracted many Vietnamese companies. So far, nearly 60 companies have actively participated in exports to Thailand. In addition, Malaysia is also the target market for many Vietnamese pangasius exporters this year.
