On June 27, China's border management department piloted the import of Vietnamese dragon fruit, lychees and mangoes through the Jincheng No. 2 land international port of Vietnam's Lao Cai international port.
He Deshun, deputy director of the Lao Cai Provincial Port Management Committee, said that due to China's strict epidemic prevention regulations, the Jincheng No. 2 land international port has suspended customs clearance procedures since February 17. After many talks and communication between the border management departments of the two sides, China has resumed the import of Vietnamese agricultural products on a trial basis on June 27 in order to assess the extent of epidemic prevention and control.
On the first day of the pilot, 2 vehicles of Vietnamese dragon fruit and lychees passed the customs smoothly. After the inspection, if the requirements for epidemic prevention and control are met, China will officially resume the customs clearance of Vietnamese agricultural products at Lao Cai port.
At present, the Lao Cai Port Management Committee is negotiating with the Chinese side to resolve the difficulties and create more convenient conditions for Vietnamese agricultural product import and export enterprises.
