Vietnamese durians can be exported to China through regular trade

2022-07-13

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam said that after four years of negotiations, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the General Administration of Customs of China signed a protocol on phytosanitary requirements for Vietnamese durians exported to China on July 11.

Vietnamese durians will be allowed to be imported from all ports in China. But durians from unregistered plantations and packing points are not allowed to enter China. According to the Plant Protection Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, this is a key condition for Vietnamese durians to continue to be sold to China. Later, the protocol and the list of export-qualified Vietnamese durian plantations and packing points will be announced by the General Administration of Customs of China on its website.

The Plant Protection Bureau has asked the quality inspection system to check the plantation code and packing point code related to the origin of the commodity. At the same time, the Plant Protection Bureau will organize relevant parties to conduct training on support measures, so as to export fresh durians to China as soon as possible.
