However, in the first eight months of 2022, vegetable exports were only worth $2.2 billion, down 12.8% from the same period in 2021.


According to import and export statistics, the largest customer of Vietnam's vegetable exports is still China, accounting for 44.1% of the market. As of the end of August, exports of vegetables to this market were US$967.5 million, down 32.4% year-on-year.


According to the observation of import and export data, in sharp contrast to the Chinese market, in the first eight months of 2022, Vietnamese vegetable exports to markets such as the United States, South Korea, Japan and Thailand have maintained good growth, partially offsetting the decline in exports to the Chinese market. , also slowed the decline in vegetable exports.


With the festive season approaching and demand increasing in most markets, the outlook for vegetable exports to these markets will continue to be positive in the final months of the year.


According to the import and export data, the Chinese vegetable market is about to enter the peak season, and the consumption capacity has greatly improved. However, due to the impact of the epidemic, Vietnam will still face many difficulties in exporting vegetable products to China.
