2022-09-29

According to the observation report of Huacheng import and export data, Russian satellite news agency Moscow, September 27 -- Vicheslav Rashmankin, executive chairman of the Russian confectionery industry enterprises association, said that Russia has become a leader in the export of chocolate and chocolate candy to China, and plans to increase the supply to the Chinese market.

By the end of 2021, Russia has accounted for 21% of China's chocolate and candy imports, and Russia has become a major supplier. Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation Report.

According to Rashmankin, at the end of last year, Russia surpassed Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and other global competitors in the supply of chocolate and chocolate candy to China.

Rashmankin said: "The supply to China is growing at a very fast rate, but this is just the beginning. According to the estimation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), only 5% of the population in China has eaten chocolate so far. Chocolate has never been a popular product in the traditional sense of China, nor is it a traditional Chinese food."

He pointed out that the improvement of China's living standard and Russian producers' export capacity will promote the growth of Russian commodity exports.

According to the import and export data, by the end of 2021, the output of candy products in Russia will increase to 3.99 million tons, including 1.95 million tons of pastry products. The export of pastry products increased from 293500 tons to 338600 tons.

Rashmankin said: "In general, chocolate is still a new kind of sweet food for China. We estimate that with the increase of people's interest in chocolate, the demand for Russian chocolate will also increase."

It is reported that the import and export data show that in 2021, Russia's agricultural exports to China will decline by 13%, from 3.984 billion dollars to 3.549 billion dollars. China's share in Russian agricultural exports fell from 13.8% in 2020 to 9.8% in 2021, Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation reported.
