Customs data shows that Brazil exported more pork to China than poultry in October

According to customs data, Brazil's global poultry exports increased by 5.1% from January to October; The export in October decreased by 0.8% compared with that in 2021; Brazil's global pork exports decreased by 4.5% from January to October; Exports decreased by 0.5% in October.

According to the latest statistics of Brazil Animal Protein Association ABPA, Brazil's poultry exports in October slightly decreased by 0.8% compared with the same period last year; Export revenue increased by 15%. In October, 394000 tons of poultry meat were exported, with a total income of 8.226 million US dollars. According to customs data, the cumulative export from January to October was 4.06 million tons, an increase of 5.1% over 2021; From January to October, the cumulative income increased by 29.3%.

According to the customs data, the United Arab Emirates is still the country and region with the cumulative export growth, up 22.9% to 377300 tons; The Philippines imported 215000 tons, an increase of 45.6%; The EU imports 202100 tons, an increase of 23.8%; And South Korea imported 153300 tons, an increase of 63.2%. At present, the export of Brazilian poultry meat is maintained at more than 400000 tons per month, which is also in line with the prediction of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association on the market this year: the international market has maintained a steady growth in demand for Brazilian poultry meat.

On the other hand, Brazil's pork export reached 98600 tons in October, a decrease of 0.5% compared with last year; The revenue in October increased by 8.8% compared with the same period last year, to 2.371 million US dollars. According to customs data, 924200 tons of pork were exported from January to October, 4.5% less than the same period last year; The revenue in the same period decreased by 8.4% compared with 2021.

The average monthly export of pork in Brazil in the second half of the year exceeded 100000 tons, better than the average export in the first half of 2022 and the whole year of 2021, which indicates that it will improve in 2023. China, Chile and the Philippines, the major markets, all saw growth to varying degrees in October. Chile and the Philippines imported 7200 tons and 4400 tons of Brazilian pork, respectively.

The Chinese market is still the most important meat export market of Brazil: in October, China imported 42080 tons of Brazilian poultry meat, a decrease of 18% compared with 2021. According to customs data, the cumulative import from January to October was 453799 tons, a decrease of 17% compared with 2021; In October, China imported 46006 tons of Brazilian pork, an increase of 23.2% over last year; From January to October, total imports were 363873 tons, 24% less than the same period in 2021.
