According to customs data, the total foreign trade of agricultural products from Serbia in 2022 was 7.9 billion euros, an increase of 20.1% over the previous year. The export of agricultural products amounted to 4.8 billion euros, an increase of 13.4% over the previous year, accounting for 17.3% of the total foreign trade exports of Serbia.

The Serbian Politburo reported on February 9 that the total foreign trade of Serbian agricultural products in 2022 was 7.9 billion euros, an increase of 20.1% over the previous year. The export of agricultural products amounted to 4.8 billion euros, an increase of 13.4% over the previous year, accounting for 17.3% of the total foreign trade exports of Serbia. Customs data showed that the main reason for the increase in exports was the rise in the price of agricultural products. The import volume was 3.1 billion euros, an increase of 32% over the previous year, accounting for 8% of the total imports of Serbia. According to the data of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the average export price of wheat in 2022 increased by 47.6% over the previous year, the price of raspberry increased by 37.6%, and the price of corn increased by 36.1%. The import and export surplus of agricultural and food products in the first 10 months of 2022 was 1.6 billion euros, a year-on-year decrease of 10.8%. The import and export coverage rate was 151.9%, lower than 176.9% in 2021.

According to customs data, from the perspective of product structure, fruits and vegetables account for 24.3%, grain 20.4%, tobacco 9.7% and beverages 8.1%. Among the imported products, fruits and vegetables accounted for 19.4%, followed by coffee, cocoa, tea, spices and their products, accounting for 11.2%, and tobacco accounted for 9.2%. Imports of sugary beverages, soybeans, fresh potatoes, milk and frozen meat also increased significantly.

In 2022, Serbia's most important export destination of agricultural products is the EU countries. According to customs data, it accounts for 50.7% (2.1 billion euros) of the total export volume. According to customs data, the next is CEFTA countries, accounting for 26.5% of the total export volume and 6.3% of the total export volume to Russia. Compared with 2021, exports to EU countries increased by 7.8%, exports to CEFTA countries increased by 22.7%, and exports to Russia increased by 18.1%. The largest source of imports was from EU countries, with imports of 2.1 billion euros, up 35.3% from the previous year.
