The traceability and sustainability of leather are closely related to Huacheng's import and exp

According to the Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation report, in a series of videos provided by the Natural Leather Fund, the "Sustainable Dialogue with N&N" section visited two companies. These two companies introduced their traceability systems, which provide consumers with traceability throughout the entire production process from cattle farming to leather products. You can imagine that the leather used in your shoes, bags, or car seats can be traced back to every cow, and you can understand the breeding status of this cow, even the feed it eats and the breeding environment.

According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, this traceability technology was developed by SPOOR, a subsidiary of Danish leather supplier Scan Hide. The cattle belt from the slaughterhouse has an ear tag identification system that identifies the birth of the cow. After obtaining all the information on the label, the SPOOR system uses laser technology to print a unique set of numbers on each piece of cattle skin. Through this set of numbers, the complete background story of cattle farming can be read out. Unlike other recognition methods, the SPOOR system uses laser technology to retain markings throughout the entire leather making process until the final leather cutting. Using the SPOOR system, it is ensured that each piece of raw leather can obtain 100% traceability records for feeding

For leather product manufacturers and car manufacturers, being able to directly track the source of leather to farms is a huge advantage. The system can show consumers who have questions about animal welfare that the car seat leather or leather products they use are in line with ethical standards. This will be one of the key factors in achieving sustainable leather. As we have previously reported, leather traceability has always been the focus of debate on automotive seat leather, and the leather industry is constantly exploring new ways and seeking feasible and reliable solutions. According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, Billite Holgaard Langer, SPOOR's business development director, said that this leather traceability technology system has truly changed the rules of the game: "Sustainable development is not the end, it is a new way of collaboration and thinking, it is a way to find solutions together through the value chain

SPOOR is a subsidiary of Scan Hide and the last tannery in Denmark. SPOOR operates collaboratively based on local traditions and unique craftsmanship. Every piece of raw cowhide they supply globally tells a unique sustainable story, as reported by Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation.
