According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), in the first two months of the 2021-2022 fiscal year (July-August), Pakistan's footwear exports increased by 23.72% over the same period of the previous year, reaching US$26.787 million. Compared with August 2020, an increase of 51%, and a month-on-month increase of 3.78%. Footwear exports in August 2021 were 13.642 million U.S. dollars.
The data also showed that leather shoe exports from July to August increased from 18.9 million US dollars in the same period last year to 22.68 million US dollars in this fiscal year, an increase of 20%. Exports of other footwear have also increased from US$2.7 million in the same period last year to US$4.1 million this year, an increase of 50%.
According to data released by the Pakistani Bureau of Statistics, in the first two months of this fiscal year (July-August), leather exports increased by 8.21%, and the export value was US$106,284, compared to US$98,218 last year.
During the same period, leather garment exports increased by 8.50%, from US$52,520 in the same period last year to US$56,985. The export value of leather gloves was US$46,272, an increase of 7.35%. The export of other leather products increased by 16.74%, and the export value was 3027 US dollars.
