The Speaker of the Nigerian Senate Proposes to Limit Footwear Imports and Increase Employment

Rawan said: “We have limited foreign exchange reserves and we cannot continue to import all commodities. The successful operation of ENASCO shoemaking enterprises will not only directly drive the employment of young people in Abia State, but will also indirectly create more employment opportunities for the leather industry in other regions. Rawan believes that federal agencies, especially the Ministry of Industry, should pay attention to the development of this project and the expansion of employment."


u3000u3000 "Currently, only 120 workers are employed in this project. However, the number of employed persons in two years will be quadrupled. We will strive for more support for the shoe industry. Create more employment opportunities for our young people."

Okezie said: "Only by using our own products can we revitalize our economy and achieve self-sufficiency. We can build more fully automated garment factories like ENASCO automated shoe factories. We are exploring various ways to participate. Competition in the global supply chain."
