According to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA), in the first five months of this year, the number of U.S. footwear imports increased by 25.6% year-on-year to 1.13 billion pairs.
In the first five months, China exported a total of 662 million pairs of footwear to the United States, a year-on-year increase of 28.6%, ranking first in the American market. Vietnam, the second largest footwear supplier in the US market, exported 255 million pairs of US footwear in the first five months, up 10% year-on-year. Combined, China and Vietnam's exports to the U.S. account for 81 percent of the U.S. market. China's share declined, and Vietnam's share continued to increase.
