According to customs data, in the first four months of this fiscal year, Pakistan's leather exports totaled US $212.5 million, up only 2.7% from the same period last year.
During the same period, Pakistan exported 4.5 million square meters of finished leather, with an export value of US $59.8 million. According to customs data, compared with the same period last year, it decreased by 7.5% and 3.2% respectively.
However, Pakistan exported 9.68 million pairs of shoes, achieving an export income of 62.5 million US dollars, 82.3% and 31.1% respectively compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year. Among them, the export of leather shoes accounts for about 82% of the total export of footwear. Customs data showed that its export volume and export value were 3.5 million pairs of shoes and 51.2 million US dollars respectively, up 53.6% and 31.6% year on year.
In addition, canvas shoes and other footwear products also increased significantly. According to customs data, the export of canvas footwear products in the same period was 48000 pairs, with the export value reaching 293000 US dollars, up 392.3% and 414.2% respectively. The export of other footwear increased by 102.8% and 26.1% respectively year on year.
