1.8GW! Construction of the world's largest plateau photovoltaic power station
According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, recently, the 1800 MW photovoltaic power generation project in Mangkang Anduo, Changdu, Tibet Autonomous Region began construction.
This project is the first project for the development of new energy in the clean energy base in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River. It is planned to achieve full capacity grid connected power generation by November 30, 2024, as reported by Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation.
The new energy project of the clean energy base in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River includes two photovoltaic power generation projects, Mangkang Angduo 1800 MW and Gongjue Latuo 800 MW. China Power Construction Chengdu Survey, Design and Research Institute is responsible for the survey, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and grid connected power generation of the largest section of the Angduo project. The Ondo 1800 MW photovoltaic project is located in Ondo Township and Luoni Township, Mangkang County, with a straight distance of about 45 kilometers from the county seat and an elevation of 4200 to 4800 meters. It is currently the largest, highest altitude, and most comprehensive clean energy power generation project under construction in the world. After the completion of the project, the annual power generation will be about 5.4 billion kilowatt hours, saving about 1.67 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 3.74 million tons per year. To help achieve the "dual carbon" goal, accelerate the construction of a national demonstration base for water and solar integration, and promote economic development in Tibet, it is of great significance. According to He Yanfeng, General Manager of China Power Construction Chengdu Survey and Design Institute, the institute has achieved rich performance in the field of ultra-high altitude new energy construction, forming unique core advantages and excellent integrated construction capabilities. It has successfully built the world's highest altitude wind power project, Tibet Zhegu Wind Farm, and is currently constructing the Kola Power Station, a water and solar complementary project with the world's second largest installed capacity and altitude.
