According to a research report released by the market research organization Strategy Analytics, in Q1 of 2021, the sales of 5G smartphones from Chinese manufacturers OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi reached 15 billion U.S. dollars. The 5G revenue of these three vendors alone was almost twice that of LTE phones in the same period. .
Chinese smartphone manufacturers are rapidly shifting from 4G to 5G. Strategy Analytics pointed out that as high-end devices shift to 5G, the LTE mobile phone market will shrink by half in Q1 2021.
The Strategy Analytics report shows that in Q1 of 2021, 5G mobile phone revenue will increase by more than 500% annually. Apple leads in 5G shipments and revenue, while also leading in 4G LTE revenue.

Strategy Analytics pointed out that in the top 10 global 5G mobile phone revenue, there are 7 Chinese manufacturers, such as OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi. Although Chinese manufacturers have succeeded in gaining a larger and larger share in the transition from 4G to 5G, in terms of consumers’ willingness to pay, they are not yet comparable to the ASPs of iconic brands such as Apple and Samsung. However, Chinese manufacturers are actively targeting more profitable mid-to-high-end equipment and are closing the 5G ASP gap. At the same time, Chinese manufacturers are bringing higher value to the international market and in the process forcing other brands to improve their mid-range product mix.
