According to the latest report released by the research organization ICInsights recently, this year's overall MPU (microprocessor) sales will reach 103.7 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 14% year-on-year, and it will exceed 100 billion U.S. dollars for the first time, setting a record high.
The report also pointed out that strong growth in the unit price and shipments of mobile application processors has led to a rapid increase in microprocessor sales this year.
ICInsights also predicts that this year’s microprocessor shipments will reach 2.5 billion units, an annual increase of 11%, and the overall unit sales price will also rise by 4%. The report also raised the compound annual growth rate of the microprocessor market in the past five years to 7.1%, and sales in 2025 are expected to reach 127.8 billion U.S. dollars.
