The reporter recently learned from Chengdu Customs that in the first 8 months, Sichuan’s total import and export value of goods trade was 581.74 billion yuan, a record high in the same period in history, ranking 8th in the country, an increase of 14.5% compared with the same period in 2020, and compared with the same period in 2019. An increase of 38.6%.
In the first eight months, Sichuan’s foreign trade exports amounted to 338.24 billion yuan, an increase of 18.4%, and an increase of 42.3% compared to the same period in 2019; imports were 243.5 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4%, and an increase of 33.8% compared to the same period in 2019.
Imports and exports to major trading partners have maintained growth. The top 5 trading partners of the United States, the European Union, and ASEAN accounted for 71.3% of Sichuan’s total foreign trade import and export value during the same period. Among them, imports and exports to the United States were 132.39 billion yuan, an increase of 25.4%; imports and exports to the EU were 109.43 billion yuan, an increase of 14.5%; and imports and exports to ASEAN were 107.02 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9%. Imports and exports to countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” were 173.5 billion yuan, an increase of 11.8%.
The import and export of processing trade was 335.26 billion yuan, an increase of 4.3%; the import and export of general trade was 137.67 billion yuan, an increase of 26.3%; the import and export of bonded logistics was 96.85 billion yuan, an increase of 45.8%. The import and export of private enterprises was 146.22 billion yuan, an increase of 33.4%. The import and export of foreign-invested enterprises was 394.05 billion yuan, an increase of 8.6%. The import and export of state-owned enterprises was 41.23 billion yuan, an increase of 16.8%, and the endogenous motivation of trading entities continued to increase.
The top three cities and prefectures in Sichuan's foreign trade are Chengdu, Mianyang and Yibin. Foreign trade in some cities and prefectures grew rapidly, among which Meishan, Dazhou, Ya'an, and Neijiang increased by 175.5%, 133.6%, 131.6%, and 90% respectively.
In the first eight months, Sichuan exported 286.64 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 15.6%, still occupying a dominant position. Among them, notebook computers were 80.98 billion yuan, an increase of 17.1%; integrated circuits were 63.31 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.5%; tablet computers were 49.11 billion yuan, an increase of 5.7%. In addition, labor-intensive products were 19.27 billion yuan, an increase of 42.1%. Sichuan imported 216.88 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 7.8%, of which integrated circuits were 158.8 billion yuan, an increase of 11%. In addition, imported agricultural products amounted to 4.29 billion yuan, an increase of 12.8%.
