CATL said in a statement on the same day that the company officially announced the construction of a battery factory in Debrecen, Hungary, with a planned production capacity of 100 GWh and an investment of 7.34 billion euros. This is the second factory built by CATL in Europe after the German factory.
The statement said that the project is located in the southern industrial park of Debrecen, covering an area of 221 hectares, and will produce battery cells and modules for European car manufacturers.
