At the 2022 International Standardization Conference held on the 20th, the International Electrotechnical Commission proposed that China should take the lead in formulating the world's first international standard framework system for key technologies of new power systems, accelerate the construction of new power systems, and promote clean and low-carbon energy transformation.
The new power system is different from the current power system in my country that uses coal power as the main power source. It is based on wind, light, nuclear, biomass and other new energy sources. Multiple energy sources complement each other and support the highly electrified power system of the whole society. It is an important hub platform to promote clean and low-carbon transformation of energy and support the implementation of the "dual carbon" goal.
According to the International Electrotechnical Commission, China's new energy (5.300, 0.03, 0.57%) has been ranked first in the world in terms of installed capacity and power generation for many years, and the industrial scale and market scale of wind power, photovoltaics, and lithium batteries have ranked first in the world, and it has the ability to lead new power generation. Industrial and technological advantages of systematic development. Led by China, coordinating the research on the international standard framework system and standard internationalization strategy of the new power system will help the global energy transition.
At present, the International Electrotechnical Commission is including China's proposed carbon peaking, carbon neutrality, energy transition, zero-carbon power system and other topics into its strategic plan. In the next five years, it will initiate the establishment of one or two new technology committees in the field of low-carbon energy. , cultivate 10 to 20 international standards.
Shu Yinbiao, Chairman of the International Electrotechnical Commission, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering: International standardization has entered a new period of development, and the dual-carbon goal proposed by my country has been highly praised by the international community. The development focus of my country's international standardization is to form a complete standard system in terms of technical standards, measurement and certification, and establish fair and reasonable international carbon governance rules around the dual carbon goals and major needs.
At the conference, the International Electrotechnical Commission International Standards Promotion Center was also established. The center will help Chinese enterprise experts to formulate more international standards in the field of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality led by my country, and promote the implementation of the new power system strategic plan.
