According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, APEC China Business Council and the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission jointly released the 2022 annual report of "Sustainable China Industrial Development Action", "Beyond Net Zero Carbon". The report points out that in recent years, China has made a key contribution to reducing the cost of global wind and solar power generation.
The APEC Business Leaders' China Forum in 2022 was held in Beijing on the 3rd, and the above report was released here.
The report points out that the global solar photovoltaic power generation will increase nearly 25 times and the wind power generation will increase nearly 4 times in the decade from 2010 to 2020. This is inseparable from China's technological breakthroughs in wind energy and solar PV and the construction of industrial chains. China has played a key role in the sharp decline of the global solar and wind energy installation costs and power generation costs, Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation reported.
Driven by China, the report points out that in 2021, the cost of global solar PV installation will decrease by about 82% compared with 2010, the cost of onshore wind turbine installation and offshore wind turbine installation will decrease by about 35% and 41% respectively, and the cost of power generation will also decrease significantly.
According to the Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation Report, China has invested a lot of human, material and financial resources in relevant fields in the past 20 years. In 2020, China will become the second largest energy R&D country in the world with more than 8 billion US dollars in R&D investment, focusing on low carbon technologies related to fossil combustion and renewable energy.
In terms of R&D achievements, the report points out that China's international patents have emerged in large numbers since 2008. By 2020, China has obtained more than 75% of international patents in the field of renewable energy technology. At present, China's research in the field of renewable energy mainly focuses on batteries, solar photovoltaic and electric vehicles and charging, and the cumulative number of patents of the three exceeds 50% of the world's total.
According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, as of the end of December 2021, 136 countries, 115 regions, 235 major cities and 682 of 2000 top enterprises in the world have set a carbon neutral target (net zero carbon target), covering 88% of the global greenhouse gas emissions, 90% of the world's economic volume and 85% of the world's population.
In recent years, APEC economies have not only increased their emission reductions, but also made a commitment to the target year of zero net emissions. The report further analyzes the independent contribution goals and action plans of APEC economies and Asian countries represented by the European Union, and points out that their universal commonness - the sustainable development action oriented by the net zero goal has also included economic growth, energy security, technological innovation, pollution prevention, ecological protection, national security, employment stability and other issues, and is surpassing the zero carbon single goal to achieve production, life Ecological all-round sustainable development, Huacheng import and export data observation report.
