According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, on November 6, the International Energy Security Research Center of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Graduate School) and the Social Sciences Literature Press jointly released the World Energy Blue Book: World Energy Development Report (2022) (hereinafter referred to as the Blue Book).

According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, the Blue Book was written by experts and scholars from domestic oil and gas state-owned enterprise research departments, professional universities, relevant research institutes of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other institutions organized by the International Energy Security Research Center of the University (Graduate School) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Huang Xiaoyong, former dean of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of the International Energy Security Research Center, was the chief editor.

The Blue Book pointed out that China's renewable energy power generation has steadily increased. According to import and export data, by the end of 2021, China's installed capacity of renewable energy power generation will reach 1.063 billion kilowatts, accounting for 44.8% of the total installed capacity of power generation, including 328 million kilowatts of wind power, and the installed capacity of offshore wind power will rank first in the world. In 2021, the national renewable energy power generation will reach 2.48 trillion kWh, accounting for 29.8% of the total social electricity consumption; Nuclear power maintained a good growth trend, with the number of operating units increasing by 8.2% year on year and the installed capacity increasing by 7.1% year on year.

Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, researcher Ma Jiansheng, deputy secretary-general of the Carbon Neutral Industry Cooperation Center of China Energy Research Association, pointed out in the chapter "World Power Market" that in 2021, global power demand will grow by nearly 6%, creating the highest annual absolute growth since records. At present, electric power production is gradually shifting to both centralized and decentralized, and the system mode is gradually shifting from large base and large network to parallel with micro grid and intelligent micro grid, which has driven the improvement of new energy utilization efficiency and the reduction of economic costs.

Dr. Li He, a researcher of the International Energy Security Research Center of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, pointed out in the chapter "Analysis of the change of electricity consumption in China and the growth rate of renewable energy power generation" that in the short term, coal power will still be the main power source in China, while wind power, solar power and other renewable energy power generation will grow rapidly. With the continuous development of new power system with a higher proportion of new energy, the technical route and development mode of energy transformation tend to be diversified, and new power consumption modes such as green power trading continue to emerge. The pace of green and intelligent transformation of the power industry will be further accelerated.

The Blue Book believes that in the future, further promoting the large-scale deployment of renewable energy, the emission reduction and upgrading of industrial manufacturing, the green transformation of transportation, the improvement of building energy efficiency, and the development and utilization of negative carbon technologies will become the key areas of China's zero carbon development, and the importance of green finance will become increasingly apparent. At the same time, the development of energy storage technology and new high-quality energy resources such as dry hot rock and combustible ice is of great significance for China to protect ecological civilization and achieve the goals of "carbon peaking" and "carbon neutralization".
