The strong demand of domestic and foreign markets has driven the strong growth of the photovoltaic industry in the manufacturing sector. According to the observation report of Huacheng Import and Export Data, it was recently learned from the 2022 China Photovoltaic Industry Annual Conference that China's photovoltaic industry has performed strongly this year. The output of polycrystalline silicon in the first three quarters was 550000 tons, up 52.8% year on year, the output of silicon wafers was 236 gigawatts, up 43% year on year, the output of cell wafers was 209 gigawatts, up 42.2% year on year, and the output of modules was 191 gigawatts, up 46.9% year on year.

"The rapid development of the photovoltaic industry has nothing to do with innovation. On the one hand, there is a high degree of technological innovation activity. In the first 11 months of this year, the efficiency of China's photovoltaic crystal silicon battery laboratory has broken the world record for 11 times. On the other hand, a number of specialized and special new enterprises have emerged in the photovoltaic industry. As of November this year, 87 enterprises have won the title of specialized and special new." Wang Bohua, honorary chairman of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, said at the meeting that "rapid" To describe the development of photovoltaic application market this year.

According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, in recent years, driven by policy influence and industrial revolution, China's wind power, solar power and other new energy industries have developed strongly and the installed capacity has maintained rapid growth. This provides "green" impetus for China's economic and social development, and also leverages the development momentum of the photovoltaic industry. In June this year, the National Development and Reform Commission and other nine departments jointly issued the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" for Renewable Energy Development. It is proposed to accelerate the construction of large-scale wind power and solar power generation bases focusing on desert, Gobi and desert areas. At present, the first batch of large wind power and photovoltaic bases focusing on desert, Gobi and desert areas have all been started, the second batch of large base projects have been partially started, and the third batch of large scenic base applications have been started in succession.

"Since this year, more than 70% of the country's new electricity installations have come from new energy," said Xiong Minfeng, deputy director of the New and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration.

According to the observation report of Huacheng Import and Export Data, in the first 10 months of this year, China's major power generation enterprises invested 157.4 billion yuan in the construction of solar power generation, an increase of 326.7% year on year. Compared with the same period last year, the newly installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation doubled. In particular, the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases and rooftop distributed photovoltaic development and construction focusing on desert, Gobi and desert areas have accelerated, and the investment in new energy has accelerated significantly.

It goes without saying that in the unprecedented global energy upheaval, photovoltaic energy has increasingly become the main force of traditional energy substitution, industrial technology innovation is in the ascendant, and the industrial system from advanced materials, equipment manufacturing to system application is increasingly taking shape.

"With the rise of the wave of global energy transformation and low-carbon development, most countries and regions around the world have put forward the goal of 'carbon neutrality' and set up corresponding incentive policies. Green, clean and environmental protection have become a worldwide consensus," said Zhou Shengyong, director of technical services for Chint's new energy products.

At the same time, the export of photovoltaic products has also achieved a rise in volume and price. According to the observation of Huacheng's import and export data, the total export of photovoltaic products (silicon wafers, battery chips and modules) exceeded US $44.03 billion in the first 10 months of this year, up 90.3% year on year, a record high.

"Among them, the export volume of PV modules was 132.2GW, up 61% year on year, and the export volume was 36.84 billion US dollars, up 85.8% year on year. The traditional PV application market maintained strong demand. The demand for PV in Europe rose, with more than half of the market share exported to Europe, and the market share exported to Spain, Germany and Poland increased significantly." Wang Bohua said.

Nevertheless, the photovoltaic industry is also facing the situation of intensified external competition. "The growth process of China's photovoltaic industry is bound to be full of opportunities and challenges." Wang Bohua said in his speech that some overseas enterprises are also trying to speed up iteration through new technologies. For example, at present, the United States Department of Energy has established the "Cadmium Telluride Development Alliance", aiming to expand the domestic production of cadmium telluride photovoltaic materials and modules; The reactivation of the "Solar PV Innovation Platform" in Europe will provide advice to European policy makers and promote the update of solar PV technology; Japanese enterprises regard perovskite products as the alternative of a new generation of photovoltaic cells, and strive to regain momentum in the photovoltaic product market. Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation reported.
