The latest research report released by Strategy Analytics points out that in Q1 of 2021, Samsung and vivo will become the world's fastest growing 5G smartphone manufacturers. Samsung grew by 79% month-on-month, and vivo increased by 62% month-on-month.

Ken Hyers, Director of Strategy Analytics, said: "Global 5G smartphone shipments increased by 6% from the previous quarter, reaching a record 136 million units in Q1 of 2021. Demand for 5G smartphones is still very strong, especially in China, the United States and Western Europe. We It is predicted that the global 5G smartphone shipments will reach a record 624 million units in 2021, which is much higher than the 269 million units in 2020."

Vile-Petteri Ukonaho, Deputy Director of Strategy Analytics, added: “In Q1 of 2021, Samsung’s 5G smartphone shipments increased by 79% from the previous month to 17 million units, making it the world’s fastest-growing 5G smartphone manufacturer. In South Korea, North America and In parts of Europe, Samsung’s new 5G model market performed well, such as Galaxy S21 5G, S21 ultra 5G and S21+5G. Woody Oh, Director of Strategy Analytics, added: “Samsung is growing very fast in the field of 5G smartphones, but its product portfolio in China does have huge vacancies. China is the world’s largest 5G market, and Samsung’s market share in China is extremely low. This still constitutes a serious drag on the prospects of the manufacturers. On the contrary, Chinese manufacturers basically do not exist in the high-value US market, which will hinder their growth earnings or profitability."
