Foreign media: Apple is developing a display with A13 chip

2021-07-28

According to foreign media 9to5Mac, Apple is developing an external display with an A13 chip that supports the Neural Engine. The chip may be used as an eGPU. The details are still unclear.

According to the report, the built-in CPU/GPU in the external display can help Mac provide high-resolution display without using the resources of the Mac computer chip. In addition, the display chip combined with the Mac computer chip can provide higher performance for running intensive graphics tasks.

As early as 2016, there were rumors that Apple was developing displays that included GPUs. But until the Pro Display XDR launched in 2019, this rumor did not come true.

Foreign media believe that the display using the A13 chip will replace Pro Display XDR, and this display may use a more powerful chip than the A13 of the iPhone 11.
