China Academy of Information and Communications Technology recently released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in the first July of this year. The report shows that the domestic mobile phone shipments in July were 28.676 million units, a year-on-year increase of 28.6% and a month-on-month increase of 11.7%. From January to July, the total mobile phone shipments in the domestic market totaled 203 million units, a year-on-year increase of 15.6%.

It is worth mentioning that in July, my country’s accelerated penetration of 5G mobile phones was the main driving force for market growth, with shipments of 22.834 million units, a year-on-year increase of 64.1% and a month-on-month increase of 15.4%, accounting for 79.6% of mobile phone shipments over the same period. From January to July, my country’s 5G mobile phone shipments reached 151 million units, a year-on-year increase of 94.3%, accounting for 74.3% of the mobile phone shipments in the same period. As of the end of July 2021, the accumulated 5G mobile phone shipments in the domestic market have reached 327 million units.
