On July 7, the author confirmed from a number of sources that BOE’s OLED panels passed Apple’s iPhone 14 certification and received slightly more orders than the agency predicted.
There have been many rumors about whether BOE's OLED panels can pass Apple's certification. At one time, a Korean media reported that BOE was kicked out of Apple's supply chain. However, BOE also responded by saying that "the annual goal of OLED has not changed, and the development of related businesses is progressing in an orderly manner".
Luotu Technology, a third-party organization focusing on semiconductor display industry research, released a report on July 6 saying that last Thursday (June 30), BOE (BOE) received a notification from Apple about the certification of the iPhone 14 AMOLED panel. BOE will start mass production in July and start mass shipments in September. This time the certification passed earlier than the previous date of the iPhone 12 and 13 series in that year.
According to Luotu Technology, BOE has shipped the 6.1-inch panel of the iPhone 12 in December 2020 and the iPhone 13 in October 2021. Judging from the past shipment history, it is estimated that in the year of certification, that is, in 2022, at least 5 million AMOLED panels in the direction of iPhone 14 will be shipped.
However, according to supply chain sources, BOE may finally get more orders for iPhone 14 panels than this forecast.
