According to customs data, in terms of foreign trade, the China-Europe train "Shanghai" has opened seven trains in January this year, carrying 728 TEUs of containers, an increase of 50% and 130% respectively compared with January 2022. According to customs data, at present, "Shanghai" has been connected to more than 30 cities and stations in seven countries along the "the Belt and Road", accumulating new momentum for the development of foreign trade.

Many major engineering projects have also pressed the fast forward button. For example, the Sinopec high-performance elastomer project is entering the equipment introduction stage, the Geko Semiconductor 12-inch CIS (contact image sensor) integrated circuit characteristic process R&D project and the industrialization project have entered the equipment installation and commissioning, and the Zhuyuan Sewage Treatment Phase IV will be put into operation, with a full year ahead of schedule. The value of these major engineering projects to declare imported complete sets of equipment to the customs is up to billions of dollars, and they generally have the characteristics of multiple declaration batches, strong matching, and urgent customs clearance.

Shanghai Customs specially designated Xuhui Customs to uniformly and centrally undertake the commodity inspection of imported complete sets of equipment for major engineering projects, introduce project system and flat operation, and ensure that the import of equipment does not delay the project progress. Take the 400000 ton nylon adipic nitrile project of INVIDIA as an example. In the past, the arrival of imported equipment required open-package inspection, installation and commissioning inspection, trial production and operation inspection, etc., but now the customs has changed to non-intrusive and parallel inspection, greatly reducing customs clearance time and enterprise costs. At the same time, for the quality and safety compliance statement and the third party inspection results submitted by the enterprise, the customs will be exempted from laboratory testing. Under a series of policy packages, enterprises can boldly import with confidence. The Sinopec high-performance elastomer project has just completed information registration in early January this year. Half a month later, the first three grinders have been successfully imported into Hong Kong.

According to customs data, in the exhibition industry, the first international exhibition in Shanghai this year, "From Botticelli to Van Gogh - British National Gallery Collection Exhibition", has received more than 80000 visitors since its launch on January 17, driving the total number of visitors to the Shanghai Museum to increase by 84% over the same period last year. For this first exhibition of the New Year, Shanghai Customs attaches great importance to it. In view of the characteristics of cultural relics exhibits such as long history, high value, and harsh transportation and storage conditions, it specially provides the "pre-review of exhibits list" service, and provides the on-site supervision of Shanghai Museum with tax-free guarantee and other convenient measures.
