On March 14, Pan Shuang, Director of the Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province, met with Dr. Laurence Yu, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Economic Leaders' Federation, and his delegation.

Dr. Laurence Yu briefed Pan Shuang on the main tasks and work plan of the Asia Pacific Economic Leaders' Federation for this year. The Asia Pacific Economic Leaders' Federation is an international institution that faces the world, strengthens extensive exchanges and cooperation in the economic and cultural fields of the Asia Pacific region and other regions of the world, and promotes win-win cooperation and mutual exchange and cooperation among economic leaders. As the hub of Northeast Asia's international trade and economic cooperation center, Liaoning has significant geographical and industrial advantages, and is an indispensable link in promoting economic cooperation and exchanges in the Asia Pacific region. On behalf of the Asia Pacific Economic Leaders' Federation, Dr. Laurence Yu invited a delegation from Liaoning to participate in the 20th Asia Pacific Dubai Summit held in Dubai in late June of this year, to exchange and cooperate with economic leaders from around the world and seek common development. Pan Shuang said that Liaoning is an important open door in the north of China. It connects Japan, South Korea and Asia Pacific in the east, Central Asia and Europe in the west, ASEAN and South Asia in the south, and Mongolia and Russia in the north. It has obvious advantages of radiating from the border to the sea and land. It is a convenient international trade passage to the sea and an important node of the "the Belt and Road", and also an important hub for China to connect with Northeast Asia and the Eurasian Continental Bridge.

Liaoning is willing to actively use international platforms such as the Asia Pacific Economic Leaders' Federation to attract foreign investment, deepen international trade and economic cooperation between Liaoning and the entire Asia Pacific region, and create a frontier of opening up. Liaoning has also invited Dr. Luo Lunshi Yu to participate in the Liaoning Trade Fair with foreign investors in August this year to jointly build a high-quality international trade cooperation platform. Li Qingli, the chief representative of the China Europe Business Development Alliance, and Zeng Changbiao, the vice president of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce, also attended the meeting and proposed profound and practical suggestions on using platforms such as economic and trade promotion agencies and business associations to deepen international trade and economic cooperation. Comrades from the Panjin Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Foreign Investment Management Office of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce, and the Foreign Investment Promotion Office were accompanied to attend the meeting.
