Promote the development of international trade! On the afternoon of April 10th, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Hainan Provincial Government of China jointly held a face-to-face "Trade and Investment Promotion and Economic Cooperation Conference" at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Haikou, Hainan Province.

The Vietnamese news agency's reporter in China reported that the meeting was co chaired by Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hung yan and Hainan Provincial Party Secretary Feng Fei. Representatives of approximately 120 Vietnamese and Chinese manufacturing, import and export enterprises engaged in agriculture, fisheries and other fields attended the meeting together.

During his speech at the meeting, Nguyen Hung yan emphasized that various regions of China and even China have always held a particularly important position in the Vietnamese government's policies for the development of economic, trade, and industrial cooperation relations. Given Hainan's position and strategic role in international trade, there is great potential for local economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Hainan Province in the future, which is expected to bring huge benefits to both sides.

At the meeting, Nguyen Hung yan suggested that the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan Provincial Government support the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade in completing the relevant procedures for establishing a trade promotion office in Haikou, Hainan as soon as possible; Coordinate the signing and effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Hainan Provincial Government of China on strengthening international trade and economic cooperation; Jointly organize more trade docking and promotion activities, while creating convenient conditions for enterprises from both countries to participate in major trade promotion activities held in both countries; Promote the market opening of Vietnamese fruits (currently coconut green) and support Vietnamese enterprises in exporting coconut green to the Chinese market through regular trade; The relevant departments of both sides exchange information on changes in trade policies, new difficulties and issues between the two countries, in order to coordinate and resolve them in a timely manner.

Ruan Hongyan also suggested that enterprises from both countries, especially those in Hainan Province, actively exchange and exchange views on market demand, regulations, and trade policy information between the two countries; Actively participate in international exhibitions and trade fairs held in both countries; Strengthen cooperation while supporting Vietnamese enterprises to establish offices and rent bonded warehouses in Hainan.

At the meeting, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Government of Hainan Province introduced the direction of economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China, especially with Hainan Province, and shared the opportunities and potential of trade and investment. In addition, both sides have arranged contact meetings for enterprises from both countries to create conditions for communication and business opportunities, thereby promoting and strengthening cooperation between various regions of Vietnam and Hainan Province.

According to statistics from Hainan Province, the international trade import and export volume between Vietnam and Hainan Province reached 1.35 billion US dollars in 2022, an increase of 56% compared to the same period in 2021. Among them, Hainan Province's exports to Vietnam reached 695.2 million US dollars, an increase of 171.9%; The import and export volume of Hainan Province from Vietnam was 658 million US dollars, an increase of 7.5%. In 2022, Vietnam is the 7th largest trade and 8th largest international trade import market in Hainan Province.
