Since the beginning of this year, Yunnan has taken multiple measures to promote the stability, scale, and structure of foreign trade, as well as the resilience and vitality of foreign trade, as a new force in international trade.

On January 1st of this year, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) celebrated its first anniversary of entry into force. Yunnan has seized the new opportunities of RCEP, introduced policies and measures, strengthened all-round cooperation in the industrial chain and supply chain with RCEP trading partners, and solidly promoted a higher level of openness. At the 3rd China International Consumer Goods Expo held in April, Yunnan enterprises actively displayed and promoted, seeking business opportunities. Relevant leaders of enterprises such as Thailand Chia Tai Group and Vietnam Sungrow United Stock Co., Ltd. said that under the "blessing" of multiple advantages such as the China Laos Railway and RCEP, they expected to achieve more cooperation and seek greater development with Yunnan.

Yunnan borders Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar, and has always had close economic and trade cooperation relations. From March 27th to April 3rd this year, a friendly delegation from Yunnan Province visited three countries. During this period, a series of economic and trade cooperation activities were held, reaching consensus on further strengthening international trade and economic cooperation, increasing trade scale, building border industry development clusters, making good use of various exhibition platforms, and accelerating the development of new trade formats. A series of cooperation projects were signed, covering multiple fields such as infrastructure construction, agricultural development, new energy development, cross-border e-commerce trade, and skill training, This has further boosted the confidence of the three countries in deepening practical cooperation with Yunnan.

In order to stimulate the vitality of market entities, departments such as commerce and customs have carried out a series of work to increase support for the construction of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, optimization of port business environment, improvement of customs clearance facilitation, and development of new foreign trade formats, encouraging enterprises to make full use of policies. International trade enterprises take the initiative to seize orders and explore the market. Since the beginning of this year, the local characteristic products of Yunnan, such as Xishuangbanna fruit berry, Lijiang mandarin, Mengzi Crossing the bridge noodles, have accelerated their "going to sea". More enterprises have made breakthroughs in international trade business, and their market competitiveness has continued to improve. On April 15th, the designated supervision site for ice fresh aquatic products entering Mohan Railway Port passed the acceptance inspection of the General Administration of Customs. The site is equipped with functional areas such as an ice fresh aquatic product inspection platform, quarantine treatment area, cold treatment room, and technical room, which can meet the inspection, quarantine, and regulatory needs of the entire process of imported ice fresh aquatic product business. Since then, more high-quality edible agricultural products will enter the domestic market through the China Laos Railway.

According to statistics, since the opening of the China Laos Railway on December 3, 2021, as of April 18 this year, the total freight volume of the whole line has reached 18.84 million tons. The freight transport has covered countries and regions along the international trade "the Belt and Road", such as Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Singapore, and more than 2000 kinds of goods such as electronics, photovoltaic, cold chain fruits, etc. The fast customs clearance mode has promoted the improvement of logistics efficiency. The "Lancang Mekong Express" freight brand of the China Laos Railway has been gradually launched. The advantages of the "China Laos Railway+China Europe Train" and the "China Laos Railway+Western New Land Sea Channel Train" are superimposed.

Since the successful trial operation of the new sea road rail intermodal transport channel between China and Myanmar in the Indian Ocean in August 2021, China has been fully connected with the Chengdu Chongqing double city economic circle and the Yangtze River economic belt, and foreign countries have access to South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean Rim. All kinds of factor resources have been gathering, providing new momentum for accelerating the construction of a new development pattern with domestic systemic circulation as the main body and domestic and international double cycles promoting each other.
