The latest customs data released by the General Administration of Customs of China on the 9th showed that China's imports and exports in April were 3.43 trillion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 8.9% year-on-year, and a decrease of 6.6 percentage points compared to March. Among them, exports increased by 16.8% year-on-year, while imports decreased by 0.8% year-on-year; The trade surplus was 618.44 billion yuan, an increase of 96.5%.

In the first four months, China's total import and export value was 13.32 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%. According to customs data, exports reached 7.67 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.6%; Import reached 5.65 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.02%.

According to customs data, from a regional perspective, China's imports and exports to ASEAN and the European Union increased in the first four months, while exports to the United States, Japan, and other countries decreased. ASEAN continues to remain China's largest trading partner. In the first four months, the total trade value between China and ASEAN increased by 13.9% year-on-year, accounting for 15.7% of China's total foreign trade value. Among them, China's exports to ASEAN increased by 24.1% year-on-year. The European Union is China's second largest trading partner, with a year-on-year growth of 4.2% in the total trade value between China and Europe. The United States is China's third largest trading partner, with a year-on-year decrease of 4.2% in the total trade value between China and the United States, while China's trade surplus with the United States narrowed by 14.1%.

Over the same period, China's imports and exports to countries along the "the Belt and Road" totaled 4.61 trillion yuan, up 16% year on year.

The proportion of imports and exports of private enterprises exceeds 50%. Official data shows that customs data shows that in the first four months, the import and export of Chinese private enterprises reached 7.05 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.8%, accounting for 52.9% of China's total foreign trade value, an increase of 4.6 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

According to customs data, in terms of imports, China imported 13.587 million tons of refined oil products in the first four months, an increase of 68.6% year-on-year; Imported coal reached 142 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 88.8%.
