The China (Guangxi) Vietnam Economic and Trade Exchange Special Fair was held in Nanning, Guangxi on the 7th, with the aim of promoting international trade and economic exchanges between the two countries.

The Fair was hosted by the Secretariat of the China ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, the Asia Africa Market Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the Guangxi Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Nanning. Representatives of Vietnamese enterprises and parks, representatives of industries such as agriculture, food, and infrastructure in Guangxi, and leaders of member enterprises of the Guangxi International Chamber of Commerce attended the event.

Yang Yanyan, Secretary General of the Secretariat of the China ASEAN Business and Investment Summit and President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangxi Branch, said in his speech that China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for many consecutive years. Guangxi is connected with Vietnam by land and sea, and is an important gateway for Vietnamese goods to enter the Chinese market. In 2022, the total trade volume between Guangxi and Vietnam accounted for 70% of the total trade volume between Guangxi and ASEAN, and Vietnam is also one of the main markets for Guangxi enterprises to "go global". We hope that both sides can deepen industrial cooperation in fields such as electronic information technology, light industry and textiles, new energy, new materials, and food processing, and promote the stable and smooth supply chain of China ASEAN cross-border logistics industry chain.

Yang Yanyan stated that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China ASEAN Business and Investment Summit. Over the past years, senior leaders of the Government of Vietnam, business leaders and entrepreneurs have actively participated in the summit activities, carried out high-level dialogues, international trade and economic negotiations and industrial docking with Chinese parties, and constantly promoted practical cooperation. The 20th Summit will hold a series of economic and trade activities such as a round table dialogue between Vietnamese leaders and Chinese enterprise CEOs. It is hoped that all Vietnamese parties will actively participate and share cooperation opportunities.

Su Yushan, Deputy Director of the Asia Africa Market Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, stated that in early 2023, Guangxi authorities organized a large number of enterprises to inspect the market in Hanoi, and the economy at the border ports between Vietnam and Guangxi also rapidly recovered. Vietnam will organize enterprises to actively participate in international exhibitions held in China and other ASEAN countries to promote trade development.

On the same day, enterprises such as the North Vietnam City Development Corporation and Vietnam Organic Nutritional Food Co., Ltd. made business promotion. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Hanoi Branch, Guangxi Bulk Cocoon Silk International Trade Center, and others shared their cooperation experience with Vietnamese enterprises.
