When going out to sea, it depends on the weather, especially when companies go out. In the rapidly changing international trade situation, Chinese manufacturing enterprises need to see the situation clearly, grasp the direction, be prepared, and take a stable path of "going to sea".
Since the second half of last year, the tense and complex international political and economic situation has made the high risk of the international trade market surpass the complexity of overseas business, becoming the main pain point faced by Chinese manufacturing enterprises in expanding their international business. Chinese 'overseas' enterprises choose to use clear strategies to confront the unpredictable external environment, and whether their overseas business strategic planning and top-level design capabilities can surpass their localized business capabilities has become the most important factor determining the success or failure of Chinese enterprises' overseas business. The relevant person in charge of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electrical Products stated that the indomitable strategic determination to face stage difficulties is also considered one of the decisive factors for the success or failure of overseas business. In the current environment, it is normal for overseas operations to encounter difficulties and challenges. Enterprises should not "deform their actions" due to temporary risks, hastily adjust their direction or directly abandon their original strategy, thereby causing the efforts made by enterprises to "go abroad" to be abandoned.
Although the external difficulties and challenges of Chinese manufacturing enterprises' going abroad are clearly visible, their steps towards going abroad are still firm.
The 2023 Survey Report on 100 Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises Going Abroad predicts that in the short term, the vast majority of Chinese manufacturing enterprises are optimistic about "going overseas" in 2023, with over 90% predicting that their overseas business will continue to grow, and 30% predicting that their overseas business will maintain a high-speed growth rate of over 50%. In the long run, Chinese manufacturing companies have a strong belief in entering the international trade market. The report points out that 82% of companies believe that their overseas business will account for over 30% in the next 3-5 years. It can be seen that the importance of overseas business for Chinese enterprises will continue to increase. For excellent Chinese manufacturing enterprises, "whether to 'go to sea'" is no longer a Multiple choice question, "how to 'go to sea'" is a must answer question that determines the stability of enterprises.
In the research, Chinese "going abroad" enterprises have a clear understanding and judgment of the overseas opportunities and challenges in the coming years. Regarding the trend of Chinese manufacturing enterprises going overseas in the next five years, nearly half of them believe that the strong supply chain guarantee capability of Chinese enterprises will become a strong support for them to enter the international trade market. In addition, the increasing acceptance of Chinese products in the international trade market will also accelerate the pace of Chinese enterprises' "going abroad".
