The 13th China International Investment and Cooperation Fair (hereinafter referred to as the "Fair") was recently held in Beijing. More than 130 ambassadors and representatives of institutions from countries in China, as well as over 500 Chinese and foreign guests and business representatives, gathered at the opening ceremony and main forum. This foreign trade fair brings together various forces to build an exchange platform and brainstorm new opportunities for international trade cooperation.
The current world economic outlook is full of uncertainties and unstable factors, and the undercurrent of "decoupling and chain breaking" is surging. The development trend of international trade cooperation in the past forty years has been adversely affected by the "anti globalization". The "the Belt and Road" initiative is a good prescription for China to "counter globalization", and the Trans-Eurasia Logistics is the flagship project of the best quality of the "the Belt and Road", which is mutually beneficial and win-win and benefits all countries. Since the implementation of the "the Belt and Road" for ten years, China has signed more than 200 cooperation documents with 151 countries and 32 international organizations to jointly build the "the Belt and Road", formed more than 3000 cooperation projects, boosted the investment scale of more than one trillion dollars, created 420000 jobs for countries along the line, and helped more than 40 million people out of poverty.
The successful implementation of the initiative of jointly building the "the Belt and Road" has made the round table meeting of Trans-Eurasia Logistics at this foreign trade fair very popular. The heads of 13 domestic Trans-Eurasia Logistics's leading enterprises competed to attend the meeting, and everyone shared the same views and consensus. Some business leaders said that Trans-Eurasia Logistics always adheres to the spirit of efficiency, convenience, mutual aid and win-win, and benefits all countries, and its operating volume and capacity have repeatedly broken records. By the end of April this year, the Trans-Eurasia Logistics had started from 109 cities in China and reached 211 cities in 25 countries in Europe. In April, 1459 trains were launched in a single month, delivering 160000 TEUs of goods, up 25% and 45% respectively year on year, and the heavy box rate reached 100%. From January to May this year, only 534 Trans-Eurasia Logistics trains in Wuhan delivered 43854 TEUs of goods, up 149.53% and 148.55% year on year respectively. 116 trains were opened in May, delivering 9568 TEUs of goods, up 63.38% and 62.61% year on year respectively. The cumulative shipment volume in the first five months and the single month shipment volume in May both hit new highs over the years. The Trans-Eurasia Logistics truly reflects China's sincerity in opening up and becoming the most important carrier of in-depth cooperation in globalization, which has greatly driven the economic and social prosperity and development of countries and regions along the line. Some participants suggested that countries along the line should focus on solving the difficulties and blockages of some old railway facilities that restrict the transport capacity of regular trains. At the same time, they also proposed to give play to the demonstration effect of the China Laos railway, increase the comprehensive development along the line, accelerate the strategic docking of Trans-Eurasia Logistics with the new land sea channel in the west and even the Trans–Asian railway network, and achieve high-quality joint development; Some expressed that they would take more powerful and effective new measures to break through the bottleneck of logistics operation along the line, ensure the smooth and regular operation of express intermodal transport, create more opportunities for high-quality products of all countries to go abroad, let the Trans-Eurasia Logistics continue to contribute new momentum and vitality to the global economic recovery, let the "iron and steel camel team" drive to a new era of further and higher quality development, and work together to build a better world.
Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin Haq said at the meeting that the "the Belt and Road" initiative has shaped the framework of the global economy and international trade to a large extent. It has completely changed and enriched the concept of regional economic integration and connectivity, and has laid a solid foundation for the future prosperity and progress of mankind.
"The 'the Belt and Road' has formed a platform and mechanism for international trade cooperation, and transnational economic cooperation has basically taken shape. Now there are 279 and 283 'the Belt and Road' cooperation texts, most of which are in the process of implementation or in the process." Chen Wenling, chief economist of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges and deputy director of the Executive Bureau, said in her keynote speech that 151 countries have participated in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", Accounting for more than 2/3 of the total number of countries in the world, 32 international organizations and China have signed the cooperation text of jointly building the "the Belt and Road".
