On the 29th, the person in charge of the Service Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce introduced the development of my country's service trade from January to May 2021. From January to May this year, the total value of my country's service trade imports and exports was 193.86 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 3.7%; of which services exports were 911.78 billion yuan, an increase of 20.1%; imports were 1026.28 billion yuan, a decrease of 7.5%.
According to the person in charge of the Department of Trade in Services of the Ministry of Commerce, the development of my country's service trade from January to May of 2021 compared with the same period in 2019, the import and export of services fell by 11.5%, and the two-year average fell by 5.9%, of which exports increased by 17.3%, the two-year average An increase of 8.3%; imports fell by 27.3%, an average drop of 14.8% in two years. The main features are as follows: First, the import and export of services increased rapidly in May. In May, my country’s total service imports and exports amounted to 373.45 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5% over the same period last year and a decrease of 8.1% from the previous month;
Second, the proportion of knowledge-intensive service trade has increased. From January to May, my country's knowledge-intensive service imports and exports amounted to 898.99 billion yuan, an increase of 11%, accounting for 46.4% of the total service imports and exports, an increase of 3.1 percentage points;
Third, the import and export of travel services continued to decline. At present, countries continue to adopt strict measures to restrict the movement of people across borders, and the impact of the epidemic on the import and export of travel services continues.
From January to May, my country's import and export of travel services was 307.07 billion yuan, down 36.9%, of which exports fell by 39.1% and imports fell by 36.7%. Excluding travel services, my country's service imports and exports increased by 18% from January to May, of which exports increased by 24.3% and imports increased by 11.4%.
It is reported that in terms of knowledge-intensive service trade, the export of knowledge-intensive services was 493.33 billion yuan, an increase of 14.4%, and accounted for 54.1% of the total service exports. The areas where exports grew faster were personal culture and entertainment services, telecommunications, computers, and information services. Intellectual property usage fees increased by 32.6%, 22.6%, and 14.7% respectively.
