It is reported that since 2019, local governments have handled thousands of human flesh-related cases, and investigations of the public and organizations have shown strong support for more measures to curb this practice.

These laws may make these big tech companies responsible for malicious sharing of personal information online.

During the pro-democracy protests in the months of 2019, police and opposition figures were severely cracked down.

The Hong Kong Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau proposed in May to amend the city’s data protection law and stated that it needs to be amended to combat human flesh searches, a practice that was common in the city’s 2019 protests.

The proposal calls for a fine of up to 1 million Hong Kong dollars, which is equivalent to approximately US$128,800, and up to five years in prison.

And the only way to avoid these sanctions is not to invest and provide services in Hong Kong.

And Twitter’s troubles are far more than this!

According to Mike Foreign Trade, Nigeria blocked Twitter (TWTR) "indefinitely" last week after the company deleted a post by President Muhammadu Buhari, which threatened to brutally suppress Africa’s most populous Turmoil in the country. The Nigerian government also ordered federal prosecutors to arrest users of the app.

India’s restrictions and Nigeria’s ban are troublesome for Twitter. Although the company does not segment user data in these countries, independent research shows that India is one of its top five markets, and Asia’s third-largest economy — with 700 million Internet users and more users who are not yet online — is also Twitter The fastest growing market. At the same time, according to data from NOI Polls, nearly 20% of Nigeria's 200 million people have Twitter accounts.

The loss of these two markets is undoubtedly a huge blow to Twitter!
