July 11 is the seventeenth nautical day in our country. The "Announcement on China Maritime Day 2021" was released today. In 2020, China's seaborne import and export volume will reach 3.46 billion tons, accounting for 30% of the global seaborne trade volume.

The "Announcement" shows that my country is a major maritime country, as well as a major shipping country and shipbuilding country. Water transportation, ship construction, fishery output, and crew numbers are among the world's leading indicators, and shipping routes and service networks are spread all over the world. About 95% of my country's international trade cargo volume is completed by sea.

In the context of the global GDP shrinking by 3.3%, the global shipping turnover in 2020 will only be reduced by 1.7%, and the shipping turnover closely related to the transportation of anti-epidemic materials will only be reduced by 1.2%. In 2020, the proportion of ocean shipping in global trade has increased from 85% to 86%. From the perspective of China's seaborne import and export volume, in 2020, it has increased by 6.7% to 3.46 billion tons, and its share in global seaborne trade has increased from 27.1% to 30%, which has contributed greatly to the 1.5% positive growth of China's import and export.
