As the delta strain of the new crown mutant virus accelerates, a new wave of epidemics is sweeping across Europe. Some European countries have gradually tightened their anti-epidemic policies, especially expanding the scope of application of the New Crown Pass.
The EU Digital COVID-19 Pass was officially put into use on July 1, aiming to promote the restoration of population movements within the EU and promote economic recovery.
There are three types of passes: a certificate for vaccination with the new crown vaccine recognized by the European Union, a certificate for negative nucleic acid testing, and a certificate for recovery after infection with the new crown virus. The pass is issued by the governments of EU member states and recognized by countries participating in the system.

The certificate contains a QR code and a digital signature, which can be displayed on a digital device or printed out. Holders of this certificate do not need to undergo additional COVID-19 testing or quarantine when traveling in the European Union.
The certificate only recognizes COVID-19 vaccines approved by the European Union, including AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.
As the epidemic situation improved in June, some countries have eased epidemic prevention and control. However, data from the European Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that since mid-to-late July, the number of new confirmed cases per day in some countries has gradually increased. As a result, many countries have expanded the scope of application of the new crown pass.
