Argentine President Fernandez decided on the 28th to merge the existing three departments of the Ministry of Economy, Production Development, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries into a joint economic department, and announced a series of personnel adjustments of cabinet members.

A communique issued by the Argentine Presidential Palace said that the president decided to reorganize the economic sector, hoping to improve the operation, coordination and management of the country's economic sector. The current Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sergio Massa, will take up the post of minister of the joint economic ministry, which will also be responsible for dealing with Afghanistan's relations with international, bilateral and multilateral credit organizations.

The communique said that the current economy minister, Silvina Batakis, will serve as the governor of the central bank. In addition, Cecilia Morrow from the left-wing party coalition will succeed Massa as the new Speaker of the House.
